Massachusetts-based codec maker Comrex will be working with Verizon to optimize performance of Comrex codecs with Verizon’s 4G LTE wireless network.
As part of the Verizon Wireless LTE Innovation Center Program, Comrex said, it will work with Verizon technicians. The cooperation so far has resulted in new LTE device drivers for Comrex Access IP codecs, according to a press release.
Comrex recently instituted a “4G Simplicity” campaign, designed to make 4G connections plug-and-play.
Comrex Technical Director Tom Hartnett said the partnership “allows us direct contact with not only the provider of the best-deployed 4G network in the U.S., but also a relationship with modem device manufacturers for easier integration.
“4G has substantial benefits for our IP audio codecs and will really shine when used with our forthcoming LiveShot IP video codec.”
