After almost six years “in hibernation,” the Vintage Radio and Communications Museum of Connecticut is geting ready to reopen.

After almost six years “in hibernation,” the Vintage Radio and Communications Museum of Connecticut is geting ready to reopen.

The organization is planning its annual spring swap meet on the first Saturday in June and has a grand reopening planned for later that month, the date yet to be finalized.

The swap meet will be June 2 in the museum parking lot located at 115 Pierson Lane in Windsor, starting at 6 a.m. The event attracts collectors from around the northeast.

John Ellsworth is museum director. “For those planning on coming down to buy pieces, my one word of advice is to come early,” he stated in an announcement. “Usually by 11 a.m. things will have wound down.”

The event includes preview tours of the museum’s new facility, which was last open in 2000 in East Hartford.
