The HD Digital Radio Alliance has launched HDRadio.com, hoping to make it a “go-to” resource for consumers for all things digital radio.
The site includes information on what digital radio is, what’s on the air in the consumer’s area and where to buy a receiver.
“HD digital radio is the hottest thing to happen to consumer entertainment since FM, and HDRadio.com has everything you need to create your digital radio lifestyle,” said alliance CEO Peter Ferrara.
“This is all about quality and freedom for listeners. Quality of sound and freedom of choice. And on HD2 channels for the next 18 months to two years, freedom from commercials.”
HDRadio.com will provide consumers with updates on new programming, new receiver products, new digital stations and where-to-buy information.
The news comes soon after Boston Acoustics dropped the retail price of its Recepter HD from $499 to $299, a move many in the industry see as notable in helping generate market interest in the technology.
