The International Broadcasters Convention is getting ready for its 48th edition at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam, running from Sept. 10–15.
Focusing on the creation, management and delivery of electronic and media entertainment, some 1,700 companies across 14 halls will be on hand to exhibit their latest products and developments during the technical exhibition, which is open from Sept. 11–15. Also on the show floor will be IBC Future Zone, where many new products will premiere, the IBC Content Everywhere Hub, which will host a series of free panel discussions, and the IBC Content Everywhere Technology in Action Theater.
On Sept. 10, Ray Snoddy, a media commentator and journalist, will lead the keynote session titled “The Future is Now — Broadcasting in an Age of Challenge,” with David Butorac, CEO, OSN; Fran Unsworth, director, BBC World Service; Phillip Luff, managing director, U.K. and EMEA for Scripps Networks Interactive; and Thomas Riedl, head of global Android TV partnerships for Google, serving as speakers. The session will focus on how these broadcasters are handling the industry’s current challenges. Other keynote sessions include “Programming with Global Automation,” “Over the Top Comes of Age,” and “Telcos Tune in Broadcasting.”
On the radio side, the session entitled “Audio and Radio — Sound Progress,” will delve into how audio, production and broadcasting are being transformed by new technologies. Slated to run Monday Sept. 14 from 8:30–10 a.m., the session will provide insight on the latest audio and radio formats, including AoIP, loudness normalization and object-based audio for TV production.
Other IBC2015 events include the Leader’s Summit for executives to strategize future policy, the Rising Stars event for young professionals, IBC Big Screen Experience, and more than 300 featured speakers during the IBC conference, which runs from Sept. 10–14.
For the second year in a row, IBC will also have the 4K 4Charity Fun Run. Sponsored by Elemental Technologies and Ericsson, the 4-km run will take place Saturday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 a.m. All registered IBC attendees are able to participate.
