Copps, Adelstein Rally ‘Big Media’ Opponents

The Democratic members of the FCC, Commissioners Jonathan Adelstein and Michael Copps, called on the public to help the agency block efforts to further relax media ownership rules. As RW Online recently reported, an appeals court said the FCC overstepped its bounds in 2003 when it voted to allow companies to own more stations.
Adelstein and Copps, who voted against the 2003 media ownership changes, spoke last weekend at the National Conference for Media Reform. The St. Louis-Post Dispatch reported that Copps predicted the FCC would now try to re-write the rules piece by piece rather than as one big package, as it did before.
