Corus Entertainment said it’s the first Canadian radio broadcaster to feature a native iPhone streaming app.
It is working with StreamTheWorld to deliver its 52 radio stations on a Corus iPhone application so that listeners can access Corus stations anywhere. The Corus Radio application launched at sixth position in the iPhone Top Free Applications for music.
This application is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch. Listeners can search Corus stations by call letters or by city. The supplier said the “shake the shuffle” feature allows a user to shake the device and be offered a random Corus radio station. The application uses the Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) codec.
The announcement was by Corus Radio’s David Huszar and StreamTheWorld’s Samuel Sousa.
