Cox Radio Names VP for Jacksonville Market

Cox Radio appointed Gary Spurgeon to vice president and market manager of its Jacksonville, Fla. stations: WFYV(FM), WKQL(FM), WAPE(FM), WMXQ(FM) and WOKV(AM). Additionally, he will serve as general manager of WFYV(FM) and WKQL(FM).
Spurgeon had previously been the regional vice president for Regent Communications, overseeing the Bloomington, Ill., Peoria, Ill. and St. Cloud, Minn. markets. Prior to that position, he was vice president and market manager of WXKC(FM), WQHZ(FM), WXTA(FM) and WRIE(AM) in Erie, Pa. for four years.
Spurgeon joins Cox Radio on Aug. 1.
