WBAB(FM) in Long Island is holding a fundraiser today for a 6-year-old boy with a rare disease.
The Cox station said Jake Brower contracted a post-operative infection following brain surgery called Aspergillosis and has had 41 surgeries to attempt to cure it. The station said the boy is one of only two in the country who have survived the disease, which caused him to suffer strokes and contract Spinal Meningitis; the family’s medical bills are described as “in the millions.”
