Cox to Convert 80% of Stations to HD Radio

Another Ibiquity investor gets serious about digital radio.
Cox Radio, the third largest radio broadcaster based on revenue, said Monday it plans to step up the pace of its IBOC conversions. Specifically, it plans to convert 80% of its stations to HD Radio over the next four years. Currently Cox stations airing the analog/digital signal include WSB(AM) and WSB(FM) in Atlanta and WEDR(FM) in Miami.
Clear Channel and Entercom have said in recent weeks that they plan to increase the pace of their digital conversions.
Cox has 67 FM and 11 AM stations.
