CPB Issues Appropriations Statement

Advanced appropriation process aims for $445 million for FY2017

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting issued a statement in conjunction with completed administration budget requests sent to Congress for debate and approval.

Corporation for Public Broadcasting President and CEO Patricia Harrison said, “This federal investment is so important as it reflects the nation’s enduring support of public media and allows public media stations throughout the country, rural and urban, to build on this financial foundation to leverage support from the private sector.”

This uniquely American public-private partnership provides tested educational programming for our youngest citizens and lifelong learning for all ages free of charge and commercial-free. At the same time, public media produces high-quality, in-depth, trusted journalism covering local, national and global issues focused on increasing our knowledge and strengthening our civic society. CPB looks forward to working with the administration and Congress to ensure a strong public media service.”
