The Corporation for Public Broadcasting plans to refocus its activities and streamline its internal processes in order to more effectively support public broadcasting, according to CPR President Robert Coonrod.
The CPB is hiring a new VP of Radio and will address several issues in public radio and TV. It will also make changes in the organization to ensure better, more effective use of federal funds.
Radio issues to be addressed include a system-wide review of financial pressures on stations and how to address them, developing a more targeted approach to using CPB radio resources and creating precise content development goals.
In financial issues, the CPB will create a business affairs unit that will handle and document transactions, institute a new ethics policy that reflects the modern business environment and concerns and streamline reporting processes and improved internal communications about projects in development.
