The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has compiled a list of noncommercial stations impacted by Hurricane Katrina. The worst affected are New Orleans stations WWNO(FM) and WWOZ(FM), which are off the air, and Baton Rouge station WRKF(FM), which was on the air with a generator, according to CPB.
Other Louisiana noncoms FMs affected by the hurricane include KDAQ, Shreveport; KRVS, Lafayette; KSLU, Hammond; WBRH Baton Rouge and WJAB, Normal.
In Alabama, FM noncoms with hurricane damage are: WBHM, Birmingham; WHIL, Mobile; WLJS, Jacksonville; WLRH, Huntsville; WTSU,Troy; WUAL, Tuscaloosa, and WVAS, Montgomery.
In Mississippi, FM noncoms with hurricane damage are: WJSU, Jackson; WMPN, Jackson; WPRL, Lorman; WUR, Holly Springs and WUSM, Hattiesburg.
Florida FM noncoms affected by the hurricane are WKGC, Panama City, and WUWF, Pensacola.
