Crista Broadcast Works with StreamGuys and OnSeeker

Streaming and apps make messaging easier for religious broadcaster

Northwest-based religious broadcaster Crista Broadcasting is using StreamGuys, a content delivery network provider, to deliver streaming content, beyond streaming the on-air signal of its four broadcast stations. Crista is using StreamGuys to deliver HE-AAC audio, a high-quality Internet station and specialized content for several mobile device apps.

Crista worked with app developer OnSeeker to create iOS and Android apps for Crista listeners. Crista Broadcasting New Media Specialist Channah Hanberg (pictured) was quoted in the announcement: “We have a large community of listeners, and the mobile apps allow us to go deeper than the music — which is important as a Christian broadcaster. Our listeners can hear us live, interact with us closely through station events and receive Bible verses in any part of the world at the time of their choosing.”

Crista Broadcasting operates KCMS(FM) and KCIS(AM) in Seattle, KWPZ(FM) in Bellingham, Wash., and KFMK(FM) in Austin, Texas, along with the Pure Music Radio Internet radio station.

OnSeeker COO Roy Gonzalez said, “We’re giving audio a facelift and bringing something unique to make mobile streaming more engaging. StreamGuys COO Jonathan Speaker said the relationship helps the company “provide a richer streaming media service to our clients.”
