Cumulus Media has promoted Greg Smith to vice president and general manager of its Detroit FM stations WDVD(FM) and WDRQ(FM). Additionally, the company has promoted Robby Bridges to director of FM programming for those same stations, and he will continue to anchor WDVD’s PM drive.

Smith has been working in radio in the Detroit market for more than two decades, and he has served as the stations’ vice president of sales. He was also employed by CBS Radio Detroit for 14 years, first as general sales manager for the cluster and then as the director of national sales.

Robby Bridges

Bridges came to Detroit in 2014 to launch WDRQ’s NASH Country format as program director. He has also programmed Cumulus stations WEBE(FM) in Westport, Conn., and WFAS(FM) in Hartsdale, N.Y., and was assistant program director for New York’s WPLJ(FM). He also programmed for the company’s Westwood One division. Bridges previously served in various programming and on-air positions in New York, Boston, Providence, R.I., and Philadelphia.

Mike Wheeler is the operations manager for Cumulus Media Detroit, to whom Bridges will report.

Cumulus Media combines local programming with nationally syndicated media to the 245 million people reached each week through its 452 owned-and-operated stations broadcasting in 90 US media markets (including eight of the top 10), more than 8,200 broadcast radio stations affiliated with its Westwood One network and numerous digital channels.
