Cumulus Names Flint VP/Market Manager

Also chooses new ops manager for Des Moines and host/APD for WKHX

Cumulus Media has appointed Nancy Dymond as vice president/market manager for the five-station cluster in Flint, Mich. The company also tapped Scott Gaines as afternoon host and assistant PD for WKHX(FM) in Atlanta. Also, Chad Taylor has been named operations manager for its five-station group in Des Moines, Iowa.

Dymond has over 30 years’ experience as a Market Manager/General Manager, in markets including Flint, Lansing and Saginaw, Mich.; Erie, Pa.; and Toledo, Ohio. The appointment marks Dymond’s return to Cumulus Media-Flint, where she served as Market Manager from 2000-2004. She was most recently Market Manager for Community Broadcasters’ five-station cluster in Watertown, N.Y. Prior to that, she was general manager for Max Media of Susquehanna Valley, Pa., stations and was also general manager of Connoisseur Media in Erie, Pa.

Scott Gaines

Cumulus Media Flint owns and operates WFBE(FM), WWCK(AM), WDZZ(FM), WTRX(AM) and WWCK(FM).

Scott Gaines moves from Cumulus Memphis, where he was afternoon host for WGKX(FM). Gaines will debut on WKHX on Sept. 5. His show will air weekdays from 3–7 p.m. 

Gaines has over 20 years’ radio experience and was previously afternoon personality for Cumulus Dallas’ WSM(FM). He was also afternoon drive host, assistant PD and music director for WDTW(FM) in Detroit.

Cumulus Atlanta consists of WWWQ(FM/HD2/HD3), WNNX(FM), WYAY(FM) and WKHX(FM).

Chad Taylor

In addition to becoming the operations manager for the Des Moines cluster, Chad Taylor will also host afternoon drive on KJJY(FM). He joins Cumulus from Townsquare Media, where he was operations manager for its six St. Cloud, Minn., stations for the past six years. He was also morning show host for Townsquare St. Cloud’s Hot AC station. Prior to that, Taylor was ops manager/PD for Community First Broadcasting’s three stations in the Iowa Great Lakes area.

Cumulus Media Des Moines owns and operates KBBG(AM), KGGO(FM), KHKI(FM), KJJY(FM) and KWQW(FM).
