Cumulus Names PDs for Salt Lake, Kansas City and Washington

Hoffman adds ops manager for KBEE, O’Reilly is KCHZ afternoon drive host, Diaz goes to Washington

Chris Hoffman

Cumulus Media has tapped Chris Hoffman as program director and operations manager of KBEE(FM) in Salt Lake City, while Mike O’Reilly has been named PD and afternoon drive host for KCHZ(FM) in Kansas City, Kan., and Louie Diaz goes to Washington for WRQX(FM).

Over the course of his quarter-century career, Hoffman has also programmed stations in Denver, Kansas City and San Francisco, where he was most recently program director of Entercom’s KUFX(FM). The appointment marks a return to Cumulus for Hoffman, who was operations manager for Cumulus Kansas City from 2009–13.

“What a great time to be back with Cumulus as it becomes the new Cumulus,” said Hoffman. “I can’t wait to get to work with SVP/Content and Programming Mike McVay and Market Manager Pat Reedy, as well as the entire team in Salt Lake City.”

Louie Diaz

Mike O’Reilly was most recently PD of Midwest Television’s KFMB(FM) in San Diego for eight years. He has also consulted for SparkNet Communications (Jack FM), and spent the first eight years of his radio career at stations in Missouri, including KCJK(FM) in Kansas City; KFME in Garden City, Mo.; and KCHZ, where he started his radio career in 1997.

“We are so excited to welcome Mike back home to KC and 95.7 The Vibe,” said Cumulus Media Midwest Regional Vice President Donna Baker. “His programming and on-air expertise, local connection to our community, and passion for leading and winning make him an ideal addition to our talented Cumulus team.”

Louie Diaz’s trip to Washington had a stop at Cumulus’ KLIF(FM) in Dallas. He’s also worked for Alpha Media in Portland, Ore., — PD at KBFF(FM) and KUPL(FM). He got his start at age 16 at WPLJ(FM) in New York.
