Cumulus Media has promoted Steve Shaw to president of programming syndicator and services provider WestwoodOne, where he will expand his role as head of national spot sales for Cumulus’ owned-and-operated stations to include all national and digital sales for WestwoodOne. The company also chose Kevin Metheny as operations manager of Cumulus-owned KGO and KSFO in San Francisco.
Shaw is currently senior vice president of Cumulus National Sales, a position he has held since March 2013. In his new role, he will oversee WestwoodOne Networks, WestwoodOne Sports and WestwoodOne Digital, including Rdio and Cumulus National Sales, which will be renamed WestwoodOne Media Group. He previously served as president of Katz Radio Group and president of Cox Digital Solutions.
Metheny currently serves as program director of WJR(AM) in Detroit. His replacement has not yet been chosen.
His other recent employment includes the launch of CBS Radio’s Country KMNB(FM) in the Twin Cities; program director of Chicago’s WGN(AM); and 13 years with Clear Channel in various roles, including regional vice president of programming.
Cumulus provides exclusive content that is fully distributed through approximately 460 owned-and-operated stations in 90 U.S. media markets.
