Cumulus Opts for O’Brien as D.C. Market Manager

Broadcaster taps industry veteran for large market gig

Cumulus Media has selected Mark O’Brien to be market manager for its stations in the Washington market.

O’Brien will oversee ad sales and direct station operations, and comes to the company with a quarter century of industry advertising and marketing experience. He most recently served as vice president and market manager for Clear Channel in Jacksonville, Fla.

“He’s a consummate broadcast professional with a history of building high-performance sales teams,” Cumulus Chief Operating Officer/Executive Vice President Jon Pinch said of O’Brien. “Coupled with his intimate knowledge of the Beltway, Mark is the perfect choice to run this important cluster.”

“I have spent half of my adult life competing in Washington, D.C. radio, and it will be fun to join the successful Cumulus team there,” O’Brien said.
