Cumulus to Syndicate Nash

Westwood One to handle distribution of country music programming

Cumulus Media has started syndicating Nash Icon country music programming through its Westwood One syndication division. The “Icon” extension, according to a release, “caters to the audience who fell in love with country music in the ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s. This was the time when country music shifted gears and never looked back … Nash Icon is an extension of our exclusive country lifestyle brand Nash, catering to 85 million fans with through audio, video and live events.”

This approach allows non-Cumulus stations to pick up programming without committing anything more. The release explains, “In syndication, Nash Icon will be offered as a Westwood One Local product using the company’s patented delivery system to add localized content to the national channel.”

The initial launch features four hosts, covering 19 hours each weekday: Marty McFly (6–10 a.m.); Lisa Manning (10 a.m.–3 p.m.); Scott Gaines (3–8 p.m.); and Darlas Rai (8 p.m.–1 a.m.).
