Cumulus Toledo Gets Two New PDs

Bill Michaels and Mark Elliot will program in the Buckeye state

Cumulus Media has appointed two new programming directors for its Toledo, Ohio, cluster.

Mark Elliott as will serve as operations manager of Toledo stations WRQN(FM) and WWWM(FM) and program director of WRQN. Bill Michaels has been named program director of classic rock-formatted WXKR(FM).

Elliott has moved to Toledo from Evansville, Ind., where he was program director and afternoon host of WIKY(FM) for the past seven years. He also served for 10 years as a promotions and marketing consultant for radio stations nationwide, and was program director of WKRQ(FM) Cincinnati, WYCD(FM) Detroit, WYNF(FM), Tampa, Fla., and WKHQ(FM), Traverse City, Mich.

Michaels was previously operations manager for Clear Channel Toledo for eight years, and oversaw its six-station cluster including WVKS(FM), where he began his radio career in 1991. He was also program director of WIOT(FM) from 2008–2010.
