Czech Radio to Continue, Sans Funding

The program director of Czech Radio is quoted as saying the U.S. decision to cut funding does not mean Czech Radio Free Europe is dead.
According to the published report, the name Radio Free Europe will be eliminated from that programming but the station will continue broadcasting mostly news and be called Czech Radio 6.
Also, the president of the service was quoted in Prague newspapers as saying she would actively pursue funding to keep the service going past the end of the fiscal year, according to an RFE/RL spokesman.
Earlier this week, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty said money for the Czech-language Radio Svobodna Evropa would stop flowing this fall.
