DAB+ is coming to South Africa, according to the Joint South African Digital Broadcasting Association (SADIBA)/National Association of Broadcasters Digital Radio DAB+ Trial Working Group.
According to the WorldDMB Forum, the task force says the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa has approved the South African Broadcasting Corp.’s application for a trial license.
The test is slated to run from April 1, 2014 through March 2015. Sentech will distribute the signal during this period.
The SABC applied for the license on behalf of the country’s NAB member stations.
