In South Africa, WorldDMB has joined with South African Broadcasting Corporation, the National Association of Broadcasters and the Southern African Digital Broadcasting Association to host a DAB+ Digital Radio workshop.
The organizations say the event is a response to the announcement that the country will add 18 slots for DAB+ and will be geared to both public and private broadcasters. It will be held July 16 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the SABC M1 Studio in Johannesburg.
Topics addressed will include: an overview of regulatory frameworks to consider from territories that have rolled out DAB+; overview on multi-channeling and adding value; DAB+ digital radio receivers available for use on DAB+ network for table top, car, handheld, visual traffic and travel information in-vehicle; and a preview of the DAB System.
The event will also discuss real world lessons from deployment and operation; why DAB+ is green and cost effective; multiplex network design considerations and antenna systems for DAB+; and text and slide content generation for Program Associated Data.
