Darr Will Move LOI Into Historic Building

Broadcast-centered marketing firm expands

LOI International will have a new home come spring.

Lauren Darr’s marketing company has purchased a historic building in Green Fork, Ind., as home of LOI International, DIY Marketing Communications and Left Paw Press (Darr is a huge dog lover). The two-story building dates to 1850, may have hosted Duke Ellington at one point and survived a notable fire in 1912.

The main floor is being rehabbed for offices. Darr said plans include office and conference room space, kitchen and a game room as wellas a nine-foot screen for video, games and Web surfing. A webcasting studio is in the plans upstairs, with wine cellar downstairs. All of that space is for the business, she said.

Darr told RW her small company is growing.”It was a leap of faith that it was time to make. We have some bold strategic plans mapped out for the next couple years and we’ll need the space to grow … It’s a crazy, exciting time.” Current staff includes administrator Erin Haskett on site and, remotely, “Pixi” Xenia Quintos, Amod Puranik, Melanie Baricante and Keith Parker.

Darr has been in marketing roles for two decades, with 15 years in broadcast. She founded LOI in 2004 and before that did marketing communications for Harris Broadcast; she’s also worked for Gannett, a four-star hotel and a dinner train.
