Davicom Has 5.20 Firmware for MAC Units

Features include full SNMP implementation, access to MAC via Web browser and a user-to-user secure Internet chat function.

Davicom is releasing firmware version 5.20 for its MAC transmitter remote control units.

Features include full SNMP implementation, access to MAC via Web browser and a user-to-user secure Internet chat function.

Compatibility with V2 SNMP management systems means MACs can be remotely configured and monitored through their new SNMP MIBs. Benefits include integration with SNMP management systems and better uniformity across corporate networks, according to the company.

MAC firmware 5.20 allows secure HTTPS access through Web browsers like Internet Explorer or Firefox so MACs can now be configured, monitored and controlled through a browser interface for easier access.

MAC’s Web interface chat window allows four users to send short messages and exchange information while connected to the MAC for easier communication between online users, and better management of user-operator actions.

Additional highlights include BlackBerry access to MAC; and site audio monitoring through IP streaming. Site audio can be selected and then streamed back to the user’s PC for monitoring purposes over the Internet.
