The Dayton Hamvention, May 18–20, is a cut above the typical day-long swapmeet-type gathering.
Make no mistake it does have the required (and beloved) flea market, but it offers more than its share of exhibitors and educational/informational sessions.
Expected at the Hara Arena in Dayton are dozens of exhibitors including manufacturers such as Comtek, Icom, Kenwood, Winradio and Yaesu.
The show also offers a lengthy list of educational sessions that range from do-it-yourself projects to antenna physics to practical ham techniques to ham radio activity in other countries. The American Relay Radio League presents many of these sessions.
There will also be ham radio classes that lead to an Amateur Radio Technician Class ham radio license — all in one day.
