Delphi loves satellite radio. A turning point for the receiver maker’s aftermarket business came last year when it introduced the Delphi XM SkyFi radio. Delphi President of its Electrical, Electronics and safety sector David Wohleen says the company has sold more than 750,000 satellite radio systems.
The company reports grom on its OEM side as well. Delphi booked more than $3 billion in what it calls wireless business in 2003, a 50% increase over the previous year.
New at CES, Delphi was awarded a contract from Ford to provide Delphi radios for Sirius, joining 8 other vehicle makers that have chosen Delphi’s satellite radios.
