Approximately 50 protestors blocked traffic and staged a noisy demonstration at the entrance to the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco Friday morning during the NAB Radio Show. Four protestors locked themselves together on the floor inside the main entrance, however police officials said they would be arrested for trespassing and removed. Attendees were able to get into the convention.
Two other protestors were bodily carried away by security from the FCC Policymakers’ Breakfast.
The demonstration concerned the NAB’s position on Low-Power FM and what the protestors called “the garbage” aired by corporate broadcasters.
An NAB spokesman said, “we respect their right to assemble peaceably, but beyond that we are not commenting.”
