D&M Holdings, parent company of Denon Ltd., Marantz Japan Inc., McIntosh Laboratory Inc., and Digital Networks North America Inc., has licensed Ibiquity’s Digital’s HD Radio technology for integration into its Denon and Marantz premium home audio product lines.
This announcement brings the number of consumer electronics manufacturers licensed by Ibiquity to develop HD Radio products to 15. The others are Alpine, Clarion, Delphi, Fujitsu Ten, Harman Kardon, JVC, Hyundai AutoNet, Kenwood, Mitsubishi, Onkyo, Oritron (Orient Power), Panasonic, Sanyo, Visteon and Yamaha.
Approximately 350 radio stations have licensed HD Radio technology; some 126 are on the air with a digital signal.
