Dial Global, the sales and programming division of Triton Radio Networks, has placed a US$2.1 million equipment order for the Wegener iPump 6420 audio media servers and network products.
Following its acquisition of Jones Media America in June, Dial Global is purchasing the equipment to upgrade and expand the Wegener file-based broadcasting platform Jones Media uses to manage its 2,000-radio station network from its network operations center in Denver, Colorado.
The Wegener iPump 6420 media server uses playlists and network commands sent from a centralized Compel network control system to generate hyper-localized audio channels by seamlessly transitioning between live and stored audio programs.
This is the first step in a multi-year project to expand Dial Global’s file-based distribution of programming, advertising, and related services to their 6,000 radio affiliates.
