Dielectric Communications hosted radio engineering executives during the company’s annual FM Engineering Executive Conference in Sebasco, Maine, Aug. 15–17.
Attendees learned from Dielectric’s top engineers about several topics, including filter/RF system theory, RF myths, HD Radio implementation methods, antenna theory and LED conversion. Terry Cockerill from Harris Broadcast participated with a presentation about isolation and IBOC systems, while Mike Woods of Nautel spoke to attendees about techniques to improve FM HD-R transmission and reception.
Dielectric presented an overview of product offerings and the broadcasting applications for which they are best suited, along with a discussion of installation, maintenance, and operation of the company’s RF Scout remote monitoring system. Company personnel conducted tours of the manufacturing plant for interested attendees.
Dielectric VP/GM Garrett VanAtta said the company gains useful feedback from the engineers who attend on their needs and interests for future product developments.
