CBS’s KROQ(FM) alt rock station in Los Angeles used a DiGiCo SD8 digital console as the nerve center of its operations at the 2011 Coachella Music and Arts Festival.
KROQ rented a house near the main stage of the April event. Dubbed the KROQ Coachella House, it was used as a studio for programming, interviewing performers and hosting live sets for broadcast.
According to a release, four to five bands a day came through the house during the three-day festival.
A DiGiCo SD8, supplied by Broadcast Support, an event media support contractor, handled everything, broadcast, FOH, monitors and even webcast duties.
