Audio distribution equipment maker Digigram has announced that it has acquired video distribution hardware maker Ecrin Video & Broadcast. Both companies are based in France.
Ecrin builds nonproprietary encoders, decoders and transcoders for broadcast, IPTV and telco markets. Ecrin V&B employees will move to Digigram’s Montbonnot, France headquarters.
Financial details of the deal were not made public in the press release.
Digigram CEO Philippe Delacroix said the acquisition “opens the door for Digigram’s entry into the video arena.”
