Digital Alert Systems Will Show in Chicago

Will display its EAS CAP-compliant gear

Expect equipment conversations at the upcoming Radio Show in Chicago to be heavy on EAS and CAP issues.

On that thought Digital Alert Systems said it will be there, exhibiting EAS CAP-compliant products.

The MultiPlayer (PDF) is a four-EAS message playout-channel device. Previously, the company’s EAS devices have been limited to one-channel-at-a-time performance, even in environments wherein one unit serves several channels. The MultiPlayer works with its DASDEC units. It carries four audio players onboard. Each of those players is controllable independently via GPI or an IP network. Each also can be programmed to play audio files or switch outputs. Added to the DASDEC’s playout stream, a total of five independent EAS/CAP channels can be deployed at one time.

The DASLC and DASLCR, latest in the DASDEC line, are aimed at broadcasters not needing as many features as the DASDEC-II and looking for affordability.

The new models carry the main features of the DASDEC-II but leave out features that might be unnecessary for a simplified operation. Both are housed in 2RU boxes and are EAS- and CAP-compliant and meet FCC Part 11 rules and conform to FEMA CAP V1.2 and IPAWS 1.0 standards.

The DASLCR adds a pair of internal AM/FM/WX receivers.
