NAB, RAB plans show Super Session on connected car

Organizers of the 2013 Radio Show are planning a Super Session on the connected car, “Radio and the Connected Car.” The session is slated for Sept. 19.

The NAB and RAB say strategists, analysts and researchers will discuss developments in the connected car, what consumers want and where the technology is headed. Data from surveys, focus groups and consumer clinics will be included, as well as glimpses into what automakers and their suppliers are planning, according to conference organizers.

Experts will offer recommendations on what radio can do to remain relevant in the dashboard. Speakers lined up so far include Strategy Analytics Global Automotive Practice Associate Director Roger Lanctot. He specializes in tracking, analyzing and forecasting in-car infotainment systems and in-vehicle connectivity.

Radio consultant Jacobs Media President Fred Jacobs will also speak; Jacobs’ company, JacAPPS is a mobile apps developer. Ford chose JacAPPS earlier this year as a lead developer to help app designers configure their apps to work with vehicles equipped with Ford Sync AppLink.

Arbitron SVP Marketing Bill Rose will introduce the session which the audience research firm is sponsoring.

The Radio Show is Sept. 18–20 in Orlando, Fla.
