Organizers are promoting an event in Kuala Lumpur in August that will feature presentations and exhibits about digital radio.
The 2nd ABU Digital Radio Convention will be held Aug.14-17 and is aimed at broadcasters in the Asia-Pacific region. Various standards – DABWorld, HD Radio, DRM, ISDB – will be represented. Several U.S. organizations and suppliers will take part, and Harris Corp. is listed as the event’s principal sponsor.
The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union is an association of broadcasting organizations in 55 countries.
The secretary-general of the ABU stated, “We would particularly like to address those issues that seem to be holding up the wide scale adoption of digital radio technologies in the Asia-Pacific.”
