Digitization Means Lawo Diamond Desks

Consoles from Lawo have featured prominently in recent digitization and update projects in Germany.
Local station Südwestrundfunk Ulm upgraded to digital facilities and installed two Lawo consoles when it moved to new premises.
SWR Ulm acquired the Lawo Diamond desks for its studio control rooms: a 20-fader model with control panels for Radiomax and a Newsplayer and a 16-fader version with full EQ and dynamics.
Lawo designed the 16-fader unit as a hybrid between a DJ and a sound engineer console. Both consoles feature modular cassette technology and a Diamond matrix, which is installed in the master control room.
Similarly, Sender Freies Berlin installed a two-layer 32-fader and a 16-fader split format DJ Diamond consoles following a changeover to digital. The consoles are used for the Radio MultiKulti broadcasts on SFB 4.
