Keeping tabs of exactly what is going out over your air is big business these days.
Media Monitors said it has inked a deal to provide around-the-clock program monitoring to Bonneville stations in Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, two weeks after it signed a similar deal with Radio One.
Media Monitors provides a broadcast monitoring service that matches audio to the “fingerprints” of commercials and songs and sends same-day spot and song airplay data to clients, such as radio stations and agencies. It is part of software company RCS Inc., which purchased the company this spring and was already active in that niche through its AirCheck brand.
The supplier said the service will let Bonneville sales and programming departments make decisions both regionally and nationally, based on same-day data.
