DK Adds New Meters, Software

Included in the new DK offerings were the MSD100C loudness meter and 5.1 software upgrades for the high-end MSD audio meters.

Danish metering solutions developer DK-Technologies took both new products and software updates to the AES show in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Included in the new DK offerings were the MSD100C loudness meter and 5.1 software upgrades for the high-end MSD audio meters.

The MSD100C is a standalone unit that incorporates ITU BS.1770 and BS.1771 recommendations.

The MSD100C, which displays the loudness of individual audio channels and the sum of left and right signals, is suitable for broadcast or post-production applications.

Working modes of the MSD100C include a “fast” mode for real-time viewing of loudness, an “integrated” mode for measuring the loudness of a recorded section or complete recording, and a “gated” mode for viewing loudness of audio material with long pauses.

The MSD100C supports various languages and different measurement scales to suit the specific requirements of the broadcaster.

The 5.1 software upgrades for the MSD600M++, PT0600M, PT0660M and PT0660M-LS meters include a new StarFish display, which makes it possible for users to see an image of acoustic audio levels representing what listeners are hearing in surround sound.
