Drive Helps People and Pets in Florida

Animals and humans were both helped by a recovery drive for victims of Hurricane Charley.
Six Cox radio and two Cox TV stations in Orlando took part, along with Central Florida Blood Centers, Second Harvest Food Bank and The Humane Society SPCA.
“The support of the Central Florida community was remarkable,” the stations said in a statement, reporting 2,140 registered blood donors, the largest single-site food drive in the history of the food bank at 55,000 pounds and the largest supply drive in the history of the local SPCA, with thousands of pounds of dog food, cat food and cat litter donated.
