DRM Announces Enterprise Award Winners

A team of Radio Republik Indonesia engineers from Denpasar, Indonesia took the honors

Digital Radio Mondiale Consortium’s 2016 DRM Enterprise Award for the Asia Pacific region has gone to Radio Republik Indonesia engineers. The team’s work on preparing a medium wave transmitter to broadcast in DRM during the Asia Broadcasting Union’s General Assembly in October won them the honor, a press release says.

According to DRM, the award is meant to stimulate interest in the DRM standard across parts of the world that would benefit from digital radio.

DRM Consortium Chair, Ruxandra Obreja, congratulated the RRI engineers in a statement, saying, “their work shows how quickly DRM can become part of day-to-day activity. This proved that the Indonesian public broadcaster has the talent and capacity to test the latest digital technologies in their effort to future proof public broadcasting.”

The press release says the wining engineers are: “Mr. Salwan, Manager of Technology and New Media Director; Mr. Ketut Suandi, Assistant Manager Transmitter, and Mr. Cok Dalem Javadi, Staff of Technology and New Media unit.”
