The DRM Consortium has launched its first DRM Enterprise Award, which will be presented to an individual or organization that has “promoted successfully, applied innovatively and actively introduced DRM in a specific market.”
The winner will be selected by an independent board of specialists, comprised of representatives from regional organizations and from the DRM Consortium. The first annual prize will be awarded next year in the Pacific Islands.
The award was introduced at IBC2013, with the goal of stimulating interest in the standard, as well as the benefits of the rollout of digital radio.
“This award will be the first of an on-going series of awards recognizing those who are prepared to explore and turn into reality the many benefits of DRM and digital radio,” DRM Consortium Chair Ruxandra Obreja. “The attractive features of DRM, like data services or the emergency warning functionality will offer new opportunities and applications that will meet real and urgent needs of people in areas like the Pacific Islands.”
