The 2015 General Assembly of the Digital Radio Mondiale Consortium wrapped up in Paris. Taking place from March 19–20, the event was hosted by Thomson Broadcast in Conflans Sainte Honorine. At the end of the two days the assembly ended with commitments to new DRM developments, receivers and markets.
With the theme of “Clever Radio for Smart Countries,” participants from Europe, Asia and Latin America discussed recent developments in Turkey, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Southern Africa. Updates from Brazil, Germany, and Hungary were also presented, as well as new planned activities in South Africa, Turkey and the Arab world. Presentations of the India receiver and the planned launch of a new receiver in Europe were also on the agenda. New members from Hungary, Belgium, India and France were welcomed.
Ruxandra Obreja, the DRM chairman, also presented the strategy for the next 12 months with continued emphasis on receiver development and renewed support for markets considering digital radio.
