Late May meeting will look at test results, potential for DRM+ alongside DAB+

The broadcast regulator for Rheinland-Pfalz, the Landeszentrale für Medien und Kommunikation (LMK), together with the Fachhochschule Kaiserslautern applied sciences university are hosting a symposium on DRM+ broadcasting in the VHF bands on 27 May.

The free symposium, held at the Novotel Kaiserslautern hotel in Kaiserslautern, Germany, will include results from recent tests of DRM+ and DAB+ in VHF band III, as well as real-time demonstrations of both digital radio technologies.

Discussions will look at digital radio in the VHF bands from the perspectives of frequency planning, regulation, broadcasting, receiver manufacturers and content provision.

Sponsors of the symposium include Multimediainitiative des Landes Rheinland-Pfalz, Mugler AG, Rohde & Schwarz, Hans H. Plisch GmbH & Co. KG, the World Family of Radio Maria and the Fondazione Formare.
