Drummond Announces Retirement Plans

KAOS GM is giving up the morning show lifestyle

Jerry Drummond, general manager of KAOS(FM), plans to retire March 15.

Drummond has served the Olympia, Wash.-based community radio station in this capacity since July, 2003.

His 30-year broadcast career also included positions at commercial stations WDOE(AM)/WBKX(FM) in Dunkirk, N.Y., WKSN(AM)/WHUG(FM) in Jamestown, N.Y., and the now-defunct WBUZ(AM) in Fredonia, N.Y., as well as WQLN Public Media in Erie, Pa. He began his career at WCVF(AM/FM) licensed to The State University of New York at Fredonia, N.Y.

Drummond plans to relocate to North Carolina to be closer to his grandchildren. He says he has no intention of working on morning shows again.
