Dual Electronics announced two auto head units with next-generation HD Radio capabilities and no need for a separate module.
The units ship to stores in mid-September. Features include presets for multicast channels.
Dual’s new XHD6425 and XHD6420 HD/FM/AM/CD head units are both under $150. Functions such as Seek and Scan allow users to peruse station selections; a separate HD Radio-only seek function is also provided. Thirty presets can be applied to HD Radio multicasts as well as standard FM and AM stations. When metadata is available, both head units display station, track, artist and related information.
On the front, the XHD6425 features a USB connection a well as a 3.5mm auxiliary input, plus two preamp outputs. Both models include MP3 and WMA disc playback, high-speed audible track search, electronic detachable face plates and 30 station HD/AM/FM presets.
An optional Bluetooth connection allows for hands-free communications with most Bluetooth-enabled cell phones.
