The College of DuPage says it added Dan Bindert as the station manager for WDCB(FM) Public Radio, as reported by the Naperville Sun.
Prior to this appointment, Bindert most recently served as vice president of radio operations at Lakeshore Public Media’s WLPR(FM) in Merrillville, Ind., where he hosted jazz and blues programs and produced and anchored newscasts, “Weekend Edition” and features for “Eight Forty-Eight” at WBEZ(FM).
The graduate of Rochester, N.Y.’s Monroe Community College in Rochester says he found an affinity for radio in college, where he worked as a DJ and did sports play-by-play commentary.
Now that he is back on a college campus, Bindert has plans to add to the station’s remote broadcast capabilities (they recently did a remote from Pianoforte in Chicago)
“We really want to be more active in the community,” he told the Sun. “WDCB has always been a great station, but we could do more in terms of community outreach. My goal is to position this station as a major player in Chicago radio. Over the last 20 to 30 years, WDCB has developed its niche, and we want to elevate that.”
