Dylan Altman is the next performer to be featured in the “HD Radio Artist Spotlight” program. He leads the Dylan Altman Blues Band, which will partner with iBiquity and BMI on several initiatives.
Altman has been writing songs and performing in Nashville for 18 years. He’s a career songwriter with number one songs cut by Jake Owen, Jason Aldean and Tim McGraw. When he isn’t writing for country music performers, Altman tours extensively.
IBiquity’s partnership with Dylan Altman will build awareness of HD Radio broadcasting and promote performances of his band, according to the tech developer. “The HD Radio experience brings together everything I love about radio and has the broad distribution to drive interest in diverse music and get artists’ music heard,” says Altman.
The HD Radio Artist Spotlight enters its second year supporting such artists as Charlie Worsham, Ashley Monroe, Due West, John Pardi, Muddy Magnolias, George Ducas and Toby Lightman. This new music initiative was created to help support up-and-coming artists and promote established acts by supporting tours, connecting them with local HD Radio stations and creating new experiences for fans. Using HD Radio technology, stations are creating HD2s and HD3s to use as outlets for new music discovery.
BMI Executive Director Strategic Partnerships Mason Hunter calls the partnership a way for artists to get exposure, adding the “HD Radio experience enables us to connect these artists to their fans.”
BMI and iBiquity have expanded their partnership from music events and they believe the new program builds the brand and other business partners can join them. For example, Alpine Electronics joined the program, supporting Charlie Worsham when he joined Brad Paisley on his latest tour.
