Arbitron says early results from the Philadelphia trials of its Portable People Meter shows listening consistent with the current diary results for radio, while the audience for viewing over-the-air TV and cable is slightly higher. Based on the early results, Arbitron has given the go-ahead to expand the trials to the entire Philadelphia DMA later this year, which would entail 1,500 PPMs. The current trials involve 200 PPMs.
38 radio stations were encoding as of July 19. That’s all of the radio stations invited to take part in the PPM trials.
