RW Online reported recently the FCC was trying to get out a Notice of Inquiry about the Emergency Alert System in August and now it appears to be happening. At its public meeting next Wednesday, the FCC plans to consider a NOI about EAS. The agency will seek input on whether the national and local EAS is an effective mechanism for warning the American public during an emergency.
